Great greens grow on

thanks for sticking with us!

Our website will be stocked this evening at 6pm for pickup at our Self-Serve Farmstand this Saturday. You’ll find all the good veggies and location info at wrockhill.com/shop.

Great Greens

Our fall kales are starting to harvest so we’re delighted to be sharing both curly kale and Russian kale this weekend; enjoy curly in soups and hearty dishes or try tender Russian in your favorite salads.  Speaking of salad, arugula and lettuce blend are both on hand as well.

On the more bitter end of things, escarole and Treviso radicchio have arrived, perfect for braising, rich sautes or even grilling if you’re up to it.  If you’re in search of a mellower green for stir frying or soup, look no further than bok choy.  Slice up the stems first and let them get a touch tender in your recipe and stir in the leafy greens just at the last moment to enjoy them at their most vibrant.

Essential aromatics are picking again, too - we’re happy to have carrots on offer alongside celery and, of course, our garlic.  Tender young fennel rounds out the veggie offerings; these small bulbs require no coring and are perfect for shaving into salad or adding some Italian flair to any saute.

Herbs and Flowers

Safely ensconced in our greenhouse, the rosemary and thyme continue to pick well, perfect for adding some herbal warmth to autumn recipes. This may be our final week with fresh flowers and they are abundant in our chrysanthemum bouquets.  Dried florals are having their moment in our final dried floral wreaths for 2021 - believe it or not it’s already almost time to start harvesting evergreens for winter wreaths.

Thank you for your support + feedback.

We appreciate you sharing this season and post-season with us.

Stay well.

Regards,

Rosemary + Pete
