Digging into summer

We’re pulling potatoes and planting fall crops already

We’re digging potatoes

This is our first week for fresh potatoes at Market!  Enjoy these tender spuds mashed or try your hand at roasting them on the grill to keep the kitchen cool.  Would they be delicious paired with some diced garlic scapes?  Yes, yes they would.

More roots are coming with us, too, including our ever-adored scallions and crisp kohlrabi.  This is our final week for Hakurei turnips for a while - grab a bunch for fresh snacking or cook up a hearty breakfast hash with kohlrabi.  New to the scene this week are beets, perfect for a classic salad with chevre.

Gorgeous Greens

The essential trio returns - shred up some Lacinato “dino” kale for a quick salad spruce or saute some tender Russian kale with some smoked paprika for a tasty twist.  Rainbow Swiss chard is a fabulous friend to feta in a fluffy omelette for your Sunday brunch.

For the salad set, our Summer salad blend returns alongside crisp green leaf lettuce, of course.  You’ll find microgreens and edible flowers at market, too - perfect for accenting your plate or dressing up a smoothie bowl.  Bel Fiore radicchio makes its last appearance until fall this week as well.

Fresh cut herbs and flowers

Sunflowers and snapdragons are the centerpieces to our fresh cut bouquets this week.  Rounding out the lineup this week are a trio of tasty fresh herbs - dill, cilantro, and basil.

A quick peek ahead to next week

We will be offering additional pickup options for the upcoming holiday weekend to ensure you can get your goods even if you’re headed out of town for the weekend.  Keep an eye on your inbox for the details to come.

Thank you for your support + feedback.

We appreciate your taking on this season with us and we look forward to seeing you at Market this weekend!

Stay well.

Regards,

Rosemary + Pete
